Skin

Make sure you drink plenty of water and stay out of the sun in the weeks leading up the big day.

If you don't use lip balm and moisturizer, looks like it’s the time to start. Lip balm will moisturize your lips which is helpful because color fades unevenly on dry lips.

For brides-to-be with oily skin, try to avoid any harsh skin treatments. These can actually increase the amount of oil in your skin. A skin care routine with cleansers and balancers made specifically for your skin type is much better for healthy looking skin.

Don't be afraid to experiment with shades and tones in the weeks leading up to the wedding. You should have your choices made at least a month before the wedding. Nothing could be worse than having nasty reaction to a new product.

Get your last wedding facial a week before the wedding. If you normally don’t get facials, avoiding having one the month of the wedding.

Base

It is a good idea to apply a little bit of moisturizer about twenty minutes before you start application.

Cheeks

Eyes

A trendy tip is to use eye shadow primer before putting on the eye color and apply a neutral shadow over the eye. This will give you a softer, more natural look.

Prep your eyelids with an eyeshadow base. Using an off-white pencil inside the lower rims of the eyes will brighten them up.

Apply two coats of waterproof mascara. Each coat should dry for a few seconds before applying the next. If you think you’re going to be crying a lot, leave the lower lashes clean. This will reduce the smudging.

Lips

If there's one certain during your wedding, it's that you will be doing a lot of kissing. This means you'll need a lip color that will last.

Use a color that looks good with your hair and eye color. Use a lip liner from the same color family.

First outline your lips, and then fill them in for an extra layer of color. Use a matte lipstick since you don't want to be constantly reapplying it throughout the day.

Layer lip products, such as primer, balm, or lacquer to help your lipstick stay on.

Apply lipstick with a lip brush. First, one layer of lipstick, blot with a tissue, and then, apply the second layer.
